Haneda Airport, Tokyo

Haneda Airport (羽田空港) is one of the two primary airports that serve the Greater Tokyo Area. It handled almost all domestic flights to and from Tokyo from 1978 to 2010, while Narita International Airport handled the vast majority of international flights.
In 2010, a dedicated international terminal was opened at Haneda. The Japanese government is currently encouraging the use of Haneda for premium business routes and the use of Narita for leisure routes and by low-cost carriers.

Man from India

“I came from New Delhi, India via Singapore for business. I’m just leaving for home after a 15-day stay in Japan. Haneda Airport is fine. You have a lot of things here such as many shops and bookstores so it’s actually a good airport”

“It’s my first trip to Japan. My friend from Malaysia studies in Nagano so I visited there to see her, Then we went to Kyoto and came to Tokyo. I stayed in Japan for 10 days and this is the last day. As for food, maybe there are places where halal food is available in Japan. But I don’t know if it is Halal or not even if it’s available because I cannot read Japanese.

Haneda Airport is very convenient, especially since they provide us with a prayer room. It’s very useful. But usually a room is separated into two for men and women because men cannot see women washing their faces and taking off their scarfs so it would be better if there are prayers rooms for men and women at the airport”

1. What time do Japanese people go to sleep because the stores always close early?
(*MET guesses that she is talking about Nagano)
2. How can you guys be so polite and helpful?
3. What is the most important Japanese culture?

American man living in Japan

“Now we are just waiting for my family, They came to visit and they are going back home. I actually work in Japan. I’ve been here for 3 years. I was looking for an opportunity to do something different. I wanted to move around and see different parts of the world. That’s why I came here. I’ve been to a bunch of different countries around here. Japan is definitely the most friendly and cleanest. Everything’s nice. Transportation is good. I don’t really have any bad things here. I love it.

Haneda Airport is nice. You can get a train right here. It’s very simple. You don’t need to cab or anything”

Question: Where is the best place(s) for backpacking/camping in the woods?

Man from Hungary

“I went around Japan for 2 weeks. I visited Ibaraki, Shizuoka, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. I enjoyed the trip without any trouble!”

Message: This is a beautiful country and I was glad to meet my girlfriend. Proud myself and continue everything because it’s impressive. (And sorry for my grammar :))

Woman from Australia

“I’m a research scientist who’s working for medical research. I’m working for university in Australia. I’ve been here just for three days. I think this is my fifth or sixth trip to Japan, usually for work. There is a lot of very good researchers in Japan, so I come to meet with colleague in Japan who are working in the same field and I exchange ideas with them. All of the colleagues I meet are Japanese.

This is the first time to come to Haneda Airport. I normally come to Narita. It’s much easier and quicker to get to Tokyo from Haneda than from Narita. But I’m really happy with Japanese airports. It’s easy to find your way around and there are good shops there. It’s good because I sometimes have to wait for a long time in the airport on the way home”

Question: What are the things that you think make Japanese culture so distinct?

Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Question: Why the “Taiyaki” is shaped like fish?
